Shipping in Cyprus 2009 |
In light of Maritime Cyprus 2009 Conference, which will be held between 27-29 September 2009 in Limassol, our firm has recently produced a new shipping publication aiming to highlight aspects of shipping in Cyprus, outline the tax advantages of using Cyprus and set out the services that Deloitte in Cyprus provides for the international shipping community on the island. The publication also includes a topical article on the transition that the industry is going through.
Since the previous edition of this publication when shipping was booming, the cycle has now sharply turned towards the opposite direction. Shipping has been hit hard with liquidity crisis and global recession. This creates enormous challenges and at the same time opportunities.
