Further to this, Deloitte has been the official sponsor of the Cyprus Accounting Olympiad since its establishment. The Olympiad is organized by the Pancyprian Union of Accounting and Economics Teachers together with the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants on an annual basis.
Deloitte Cyprus supports the sport of athletics from playground to podium, making it easier for elite athletes to achieve their dreams.
Further to this, Deloitte sponsors one of the biggest annual international sporting events in Cyprus - Lemesia - organised by the Limassol Municipality and taking place in Limassol since 2000. During the 10 days of Lemesia athletes from several countries compete in a number of disciplines such as boxing, karate, triathlon, marathon, shooting, rhythmic gymnastics, and cycling.
Deloitte Cyprus contributes towards the development of the social and cultural life of our country by sponsoring the Cyprus Music Awards, an annual music institution established in Cyprus in 2006.
Charitable fundraising initiatives have always been supported from our people, and both our people and our firm has been donating funds to people-in-need and to non-profit community organisations.
Not only do our people embrace fund donation, but they also embrace blood donation, organizing blood donation events in cooperation with our Local Blood Banks twice each year.
It is our commitment to minimize the potentially significant impacts of our operations on the environment. We encourage energy efficiency and promote waste minimization and environmentally friendly waste disposal: This year we have appointed new contractors to remove our office waste, ensuring as much as possible is re-used or recycled. A new office waste recycling programme and a staff awareness campaign have been launched in all our offices.
