Deloitte comments on UK's anti-bribery law |
On May 23, 2011, Christopher P. Wilson, Partner of Forensic & Disputes Services, was a guest speaker on the Hong Kong Today show hosted by RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong). Chris spoke about the upcoming implementation of the UK Bribery Act ( “the Act”) and what it should mean for multinational companies doing business in the UK, as well as smaller companies operating in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The discussion included:
- the potential fines and penalties that may apply to companies and individuals who fail to meet the requirements of the Act
- previous UK anti-bribery legislation; and
- the significant differences between the Act and the equivalent legislation in the USA.
