Chris Lu
Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte China
Chris Lu assumed the role of Deloitte China CEO on 1 October, 2008. Mr. Lu has been a partner of Deloitte China since 1994 and Co-Chair of Deloitte's Chinese Service Group from 2006 to 2008. Prior to his present appointment, Mr. Lu was Managing Partner of Eastern China from 1999 to 2008 and additionally appointed as Managing Partner of National China Clients & Markets from 2006. He joined Deloitte in 1981 as a member of the US practice in Los Angeles, transferring to Deloitte Taiwan in 1989 where he served as the Head of the International Service Department before his transfer to Deloitte China.
Mr. Lu’s professional experience includes serving both domestic and multinational corporations spanning a range of industry sectors, in expertise areas such as managing local statutory audits, consolidating accounts for international clients, preparing accounts for companies seeking listings, conducting due diligence reviews and joint-venture negotiations. He has also led a number of Deloitte initiatives in support of national policies and programs such as those of the State-owned Assets Supervision & Administration Commission (SASAC).
Mr. Lu’s professional and personal contributions have been recognized by the community. He is a two times winner in 2003 and 2005 of Shanghai’s prestigious Magnolia Award, which recognizes expatriates for their deep friendship with and significant contributions to the development of the city of Shanghai. Most recently, he was appointed 2009 Chairman of the China Mergers and Acquisitions Association.
Mr. Lu is a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is also a Director of the Shanghai Chapter of the CICPA.
