Publish date: 2 November 2012

The International Student Business Forum (ISBF) is a three day, annual, career and leadership development programme for top talented students from around the world. ISBF is one of Deloitte's global early identification programs which present their member firm network with a unique opportunity to engage with top talented students prior to graduation.

Having been held in Europe since its inception in 2007, next years' forum will be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, 21-25 March, 2013. This is an exciting event for Deloitte in Asia Pacific, and an unrivalled opportunity for participants to experience this dynamic region, while also taking part in a unique career development platform for the firms' future leaders.

Chaly Mah, Deloitte Asia Pacific Regional Managing Director said, “The general mood of optimism surrounding future growth opportunities for businesses in the Asia Pacific region can only be realized with the right talent strategy. Our focus on acquiring the most sought after talent in the market drives our commitment to programs such as the ISBF, creating a unique and innovative opportunity for us, as a global organization, to identify Deloitte's future leaders.”

Guided and coached by over 20 Deloitte professionals from around the globe, the forum is designed to help the students develop and expand a range of skills with the opportunity to also engage in personal career conversations. Participating students work in cross-cultural teams to solve realistic and complex business cases that develop their understanding of business practice and theory – with a particular focus on developing and applying leadership skills. By the end of the forum, the students will have experienced the four key outcomes which underpin the entire event: Teamwork, Leadership, Cross-cultural skills, and Networking.

"Our International Student Business Forum provides high potential students from around the world with a truly unique opportunity to build their leadership skills and learn to collaborate with top talent from many different countries and cultures”, said Margot Thom, Deloitte's Managing Director for Global Talent. "We are excited to hold this year’s forum in Asia Pacific and are confident that the students from outside the region will enjoy the experience in this dynamic, high growth region".

ISBF 2012 was held earlier this year in Athens, Greece. Grant Greeff, one of the South African participants, had this to say of his experience: “I cannot wait to start my career at Deloitte South Africa and even more so now after meeting all these great people at ISBF. The coaches were amazing and I really appreciated all the advice and guidance I received. What a super event!”
