Deloitte is proud to be the Intellectual Supporting Partner of the Boao Forum for Asia's ("BFA") Annual Conference for the fifth consecutive year. With the theme of "Green Recovery: Asia's Realistic Choice for Sustainable Growth" this year, the BFA Annual Conference will be held in Hainan Island from 9-11 April, 2010.
During the three-day conference, over 1,000 participants including senior government officials and business leaders will gather to discuss a variety of issues that are relevant to the further development and transformation of the Asian economies. Deloitte's continued support to the BFA reflects the firm's commitment to leading discussion on pressing issues and building a sustainable future together with the business community.
As the Intellectual Supporting Partner for the BFA Annual Conference, Deloitte provides input to the BFA program development, drawing on the resources, experience and professional views of the global organization. Mr. Chris Lu, Deloitte China CEO, said, "While Asian economies are playing a major role in the recovery of the global economy, their rise in the global economic order presents them and their business constituents with new challenges and responsibilities."
At the BFA last year, Deloitte hosted an evening Roundtable on "A cleantech future and the future of cleantech". The results of a survey conducted during the Roundtable highlighted the following as the major drivers for a green business environment: clear policies by governments; cleantech investment and adoption to be led by the largest enterprises; and more compelling value propositions by foreign investors to local business partners.
"Deloitte believes the upcoming BFA Annual Conference is a valuable opportunity for business leaders to assess progress on and the future opportunities for these drivers, and to share experiences and ideas on the increasingly important challenge of sustaining success while sustaining our environment," Mr. Lu noted.
