IT M&A

Managing IT with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures

IT M&AUnderstanding, planning and then executing IT integration in an effective way is essential to the success of any major acquisition with responsibility falling on the CIO or CTO for the lion’s share of cost savings.

We have extensive experience supporting our clients throughout this process, from performing IT due diligence assessments in acquisition targets to running enterprise-wide integration programmes.

Before the deal is signed...

We can help you to develop your IT M&A strategy and identify areas of synergy with potential acquisition targets. When a specific organisation has been approached, we can perform rapid business-focused assessments of their IT systems. These are not just “box-ticking” exercises; our experienced consultants always seek to understand the drivers for the deal so that we can spot the risks and opportunities that impact the rationale for the transaction. Ultimately, we provide you with a competitive advantage at the negotiating table.

After the deal has been signed...

We work with your leadership team to structure the programme with you. From the start, it is essential that the IT integration strategy and planning are of the highest quality if shareholder expectations of the deal (i.e. cost savings) are to be realised within the expected timeframes. This is more important for IT than most business areas because synergy targets are often hung on IT infrastructure consolidation within the first 6-12 months. We can support and advise you through this, providing senior leadership advice, work-stream programme management, project prioritisation, target operating model design, and much more.

After the deal has closed...

We continue to work with your programme leadership to ensure the merger creates and captures the value it promised. We have successfully delivered some of the largest programmes in the world.
