After several years of continuous economic growth in Switzerland and abroad the Swiss Medtech industry is entering a new phase therefore being obliged to rethink strategic priorities. Current challenges are found in increased price and cost pressure in the health care markets, international competition, and regulatory requirements.
Future competitive advantages call for business model modifications as well as adaptations in research and development. Still, on average medtech companies expect a double-digit growth in 2010 and in 2011.
The survey was conducted as a joint collaboration of the Medical Cluster, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, and the audit and consulting company Deloitte.
