Important information for investors in NHA MBS between November 1998 and May 2003
Important and time-sensitive information is set out below for investors who held National Housing Act Mortgage-Backed Securities (“NHA MBS”) issued by the Bank of Montreal (“BMO”) at any point in time between November 1998 and May 2003 (the “Claim Period”). These securities were guaranteed by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (“CMHC”).
Additional payments may be available
As a result of a recalculation of indemnity payments owing in various pools of NHA MBS, a total of approximately C$2.5 million (including interest) is available for distribution. If you held the NHA MBS issued by BMO at any point during the Claim Period you may be entitled to an additional payment.

If you held one of the series listed above between November 1998 and May 2003, and you can prove that you did so, you may be entitled to a payment.
The amount of the payment that may be available to you depends on the particular pool of NHA MBS that you held, and how long you held that pool.
In order to receive any additional payment to which you are entitled, you must file a valid claim form, with proper proof of ownership and a declaration from the dealer/custodian (if necessary), with Deloitte, by 5:00 pm EST on August 31, 2011.

Directions to Receive a Claim Form Package
If you believe that you held NHA MBS at any point in time during the Claim Period and you wish to make a claim for an additional payment, you must obtain a claim form package from Deloitte, complete the claim form in full, provide the proper documents requested in the claim form package, and submit the completed claim form, along with all required documents, via email or the post to Deloitte by 5:00 pm EST on August 31, 2011.

Deadline for Submission of a Claim
All claim forms must be accompanied by proof of ownership of the relevant NHA MBS, and a declaration from the dealer/custodian (if necessary). The claim form package contains additional information regarding the proof that you must provide to Deloitte.
All completed claim forms must be submitted to Deloitte by 5:00 pm EST on August 31, 2011.
