The Directors' Series, 2011-2012 season

Preparing for year-end audit committee meetings

Directors' SeriesDirectors’ Series, Thursday, January 12, 2012

With the outlook for global business conditions increasingly uncertain, the focus for boards clearly remains on risk management and intelligent risk-taking. The pressure on audit committees has never been greater. Factoring risk into committees’ year-end activities and 2012 work plans, communicating effectively with investors and stakeholders, and responding to ever changing regulatory requirements are just a few of the challenges. The upcoming Directors’ Series session will examine the implications of these and other emerging issues as audit committees prepare for their year-end meetings.

Our panel includes:

  • Colleen Johnston – Group Head Finance & CFO, TD Bank Group; Chair of the Board Development Committee of the Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • Marion Kirsh - Associate Chief Accountant, Ontario Securities Commission; National Board Member, Canadian Cancer Society
  • Vic Young – Chair of the Audit Committee, Royal Bank of Canada and Imperial Oil Limited
  • Jeff Willemain - Global Managing Partner, Regulatory and Risk, Deloitte
  • Don Wilkinson – Vice Chair, Deloitte

Please join us at this complimentary session to hear from seasoned corporate directors, company executives and other professionals who will share their insights on current corporate governance issues.
