Anzen Consulting team enhances Deloitte’s privacy practice

In an increasingly digital, competitive and global economy, privacy issues are on the rise. Deloitte’s privacy team offers a multidisciplinary, enterprise-wide approach that addresses privacy requirements under a comprehensive framework. The Deloitte privacy team harnesses expertise in information security, data protection, governance and other key risk areas to offer organizations a truly resolute approach to identifying and managing privacy risks.

In May 2010, the Anzen Consulting team joined Deloitte’s Canadian privacy practice. The multidisciplinary privacy professionals from Anzen have expertise in privacy-related governance, policy, communications, information technology, security, law and regulatory affairs. The team has extensive experience in government, health care, IT and telecommunications. In addition, they have worked with numerous clients in the private sector with international data holdings that included sensitive personal health and financial information.

Deloitte’s privacy practice helps public and private sector organizations whose businesses or programs rely on the management of personal information to:

  • Understand their privacy obligations – including compliance, audit and reporting requirements, best privacy practices and industry standards
  • Develop and implement privacy strategies, policies and controls that guide help organizations and programs to handle personal information appropriately, while also ensuring the right balance between data protection and efficiency
  • Evaluate the privacy requirements of new projects, programs and technologies by conducting privacy impact assessments, audits and reviews
  • Select and train privacy staff, such as Chief Privacy Officers and Privacy Specialists
  • Contain, investigate and remediate privacy and security data breaches and liaise with privacy stakeholders, such as customers, privacy regulators and the media
