Deloitte recognized for its commitment to diversityDeloitte presented with the Maurice-Pollack Award in the “private sector enterprises or organizations” category |
Montréal, June 1, 2010 – Deloitte was presented with the Maurice-Pollack Award in the “private sector enterprises or organizations” category by the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities, Minister of Family, Yolande James, as part of the 12th annual Quebec Citizenship Awards.
This award highlights Deloitte’s efforts to embrace, integrate and promote ethno-cultural diversity in the workplace and to support equal access to employment for Quebecers from cultural communities and visible minorities.
Deloitte received this recognition for having created a workplace that values the talent, commitment, and diversity of its people. One of the firm’s concrete actions was to implement a diversity council made up of professionals from all different backgrounds. This Council fulfills an advisory role by leading and supporting its actions in an effort to create an inclusive workplace. In addition, Deloitte has completed a concrete business plan, supported its human networks, sponsored external activities, created a blog on diversity, and worked with community organizations to support diversity research and programs.
“The firm is very proud to be the recipient of this great honour, which underscores the inclusive workplace that we strive to build every day for our people. Diversity and inclusion are part of our organization’s identity – both in our internal and external programs, in the commitment made by our leadership team, and in our vision of what Deloitte can become,” explains Louise Rainville, Deloitte partner and co-chair of Deloitte’s Diversity Council.
