Meet Paul Macmillan

Global Industry Leader, Public Sector, DTTL

Paul MacmillanPaul Macmillan grew up in Canada's national capital where he studied Public Administration at Carleton University and received an MBA from the University of Ottawa. He has been a management consultant and strategic advisor to governments for over 25 years. As the Global Public Sector Leader for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, Mr. Macmillan is responsible for the firm's client service innovation to support public purpose organizations around the world. His most recent research undertaking, in collaboration with William Eggers, Deloitte Research Global Public Sector Director, is due to be released by Harvard Business Press in September 2013 and is titled: The Solution Revolution: How Business, Government and Social Enterprises are Teaming-up to Solve Society's Toughest Problems. He is a frequent writer and speaker on topics of government innovation; public accountability and advanced analytics.

He is a founding leader of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC)-Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Awards and of the Schulich Masters Certificate in Public Management Program. Mr. Macmillan was recently invited to serve as an external advisory member of the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation.

He lives in Toronto, Canada with his wife and two teenage children.
