Global risk management survey

Canadian financial services navigate a changed world

As the financial services industry emerges from a highly volatile period, industry leaders are working to identify new strategies for mitigating risk.  Many institutions are re-thinking their risk management governance models, and seeking a more active role for their boards of directors in overseeing and challenging risk management.

Institutions are also refining their business models and seeking ways to better evaluate risk reward trade-off and capital performance, in response to new regulations, which demand higher capital requirements.

To understand the state of risk management in this new environment, Deloitte conducted a comprehensive survey of global risk management practices across the financial services industry.

Navigating in a changed world contains responses from 131 institutions whose combined assets total more than $17 trillion.

This seventh annual Deloitte survey discovered that organizations continue to have significant opportunities to enhance their risk management processes and tools.
