Deloitte is providing translation services for the 2010 Winter Games

The need
The Olympic Charter states that French, an official language of the Olympic Movement, along with English, is of fundamental importance for the Olympic Games. The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) requires translation of the Games website and official information platforms, and all main publications, including the Spectator Guide. It also requires recruitment of on-premise translators for all written and oral announcements, as well as the ceremonies.

The project
Deloitte’s Linguistic Services, one of Canada’s largest translation practices with nearly 75 employees, is a specialized provider of French and English translation services. During the 12-month pre-Games period, Deloitte is a main provider of English-to-French translation services, working from our Montreal offices. During the Games, key Deloitte translators will form an integral part of the Vancouver on-premise translation team, and will be able to tap into the rest of the Montreal team’s capabilities to provide services as needed.

Deloitte’s value
VANOC is relying on Deloitte’s exceptional turnaround and thorough translation quality control process. Deloitte’s Linguistic Services are comprised of highly trained professional translators. All translations are reviewed by a senior translator, and all figures and factual data are verified.
