Deloitte is providing compliance services for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games

The need
The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) engaged to manage the ticketing program and, in particular, the lottery process. VANOC needed Deloitte to review the lottery process for oversubscribed Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games events. VANOC required assurance that the criteria established by the Random Selection and Space Allocation processes described within the terms of its agreement with were adhered to.

Deloitte brought together a team with the right combination of technical knowledge to adequately assess the compliance with the lottery procedures and system algorithm. This incorporated data extraction, statistical skills, and Java-based technical skills. In addition, the team had to be extremely flexible with the timing requirements of both and VANOC.
