New York, June 2, 2011 – Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) today announced that Stephen Almond is the new Chairman of the Board, DTTL. Effective immediately, Almond will succeed John P. Connolly, who has served as Chairman of the Board, DTTL, since June 2007 and whose term ended on May 31, 2011. As the new Chairman, Almond oversees the highest governing body of DTTL.

Previously, Almond served as Deputy Global Chief Executive Officer, Clients, DTTL, a role in which he championed a consistent, differentiated approach to serving clients across borders and industry sectors. He also spent four years as Global Managing Director, Audit, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Almond earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of London. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of the Deloitte UK Executive, and also sat on the Deloitte UK Board for nearly 15 years. He was also a member of the DTTL Executive Committee. Almond is married with three children and will be based in London, United Kingdom.
