Deloitte Bermuda practice
The firm is lead by five principals in Bermuda. Below is a short description of each principal's specialization and length of time at the firm.
John Johnston
John, Office Managing Principal, has been with the firm since 1987. He works in Assurance Services, Tax Services and Actuarial Services. He is also the Bermuda representative of the Caribbean & Bermuda cluster and overseas the audit learning structure. He specializes in Assurance Services- reinsurers/ SEC and has deep experience with Bermuda’s important reinsurance industry, especially the publicly traded reinsurers.
Mark Baumgartner
Mark has been with Deloitte Bermuda since 1998 becoming a partner in 2007. Mark leads the Alternative Investment Group and Secondment Services Group. He specializes in assurance services for the Alternative Investment Group, including SAS 70 reports, and has deep experience with alternative investment structures including hedge funds, feeder funds, fund of funds, side pockets and the financial instruments, including derivatives, in which they invest.
Stephen Kuzyk
Stephen has been with Deloitte Bermuda since 1999 and a partner since 2006. He leads the Consulting and Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) practices. Stephen is also a leader in the reinsurance industry in Bermuda and is responsible for the audit engagements of two publicly traded reinsurers, working closely with our US firm. Stephen also leads our practice in the area of internal audit for large reinsurers. In his spare time, Stephen is the Chairman of Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation.
Mark Smith
Mark has been with Deloitte Bermuda since 1983 and as a partner since 1988. He leads the Financial Advisory practice and is responsible for our Information Technology department. He mainly specializes in Assurance Services – Insurance, reinsurance and insolvency services, as well as Consulting services. Mark is a Director of the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).
Roger Titterton
Roger has been with Deloitte Bermuda since 1978 and as a partner since 1982. Roger focuses on assurance services for Hedge Funds, Captive Insurers, Retailers and Not-for-Profits. He is the Risk and Reputation Leader, Independence Director, and Ethics Officer. He mainly specializes in Alternative Investments. Roger represents the firm as a Director of the Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA). He was the past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda and past Chairman of the National Pension Commission of Bermuda.
