Belgian program law: Abolition of ‘environmental taxes’ & higher excise duty rates for alcohol (excl. beer) and tobacco

On 21 December 2012, the Parliament adopted the program law containing the measures in executing the federal budget plan for 2013. This program law has been published in the Belgian Gazette and contains measures applicable as of 1 January 2013 for all alcohol products (except beer) and products subject to environmental tax. Those for tobacco products are applicable as of 1 February 2013.
