Accession of Turkey and Croatia to the NCTS environment
In order to move goods between the EU and Croatia/Turkey only the TIR procedure can currently be used. The common transit procedure to facilitate the movement of goods between two points of a customs territory via another customs territory, or between two or more different customs territories, is used for the movement of goods between the 27 EU Member States and the EFTA countries (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland). Based on the Convention of 20 May 1987, it also allows the customs clearance formalities to take place at the indicated point of destination rather than at the point of entry into the customs territory of the point of destination.
