The need for licensing competence
An area which is so logical in principle unfortunately includes within it the most complex subject of all IT – licensing. Most organisations experience difficulties finding and retaining personnel knowledgeable about licensing.
Concern about extra licensing costs
It is common behavior in many organisations to avoid the issue of licensing because of a worry that underlicensing will be identified and may result in unplanned costs.
The challenge now is to find ways of surviving the recession. Cutting projects and costs is typically the first line of defense. The question however is how to be proactive and turn disadvantage into advantage.
