Rik Vanpeteghem is CEO of Deloitte Belgium, a post he took up in June 2008. Prior to becoming CEO, Rik was managing partner of the Deloitte Belgium Tax practice (2004-2008), and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee since June 2000.
Rik has 22 years of experience in international tax; he specialises in Belgian and European corporate tax issues around cross-border reorganisations and inbound investments into Belgium. Rik was named as one of the top five tax advisors in Belgium in the International Tax Review (ITR) World Tax surveys of 1999 and 2001, and as a leading advisor in the World Tax 2007 and 2008 surveys.
Rik has degrees in law and business management from the University of Leuven, and a degree in tax law from the University of Brussels. He is a recognised tax consultant in Belgium.
Rik comes from Kortrijk in West Flanders, Belgium. His native tongue is Flemish (Dutch) and he is fluent in English and French.
