Following the Belgian regional elections on 9 June, CFOs reported limited confidence in the impact of the results on the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and economic policy making in Belgium.
Two quarters later, optimism related to the impact of the Belgian domestic political situation has not improved. Confidence in politics is still low, while half of the CFOs report the domestic political situation will have a negative impact on policy making.
One illustration of this lack of trust from the corporate sector is the recently launched press campaign of the VBO/FEB, in cooperation with most other Belgian corporate sector federations. With this campaign, the corporate sector communicates clear concerns to the government authorities and launches a number of propositions for economic policy making.
