A new landscape in domestic politics

Deloitte Belgian CFO Survey Q2-2010

Following the results of the Belgian elections in June, more than one third of surveyed CFOs reported the outcome of the elections would have a positive impact on efficiency and effectiveness of financial and economic policy making.

CFOs confidence in domestic politics has reached the highest levels in 12 months. For the first time since the launch of the survey the optimists outnumber the pessimists.

Despite this result, a majority of surveyed CFOs believe that the authorities have little or no extra scope to stimulate the economy. In this respect, expectations should not be overrated.
