Customs Alert (27/04/2012)

Mandatory use of electronic AC4

The Belgian Customs & Excises Authorities confirmed that as of 1 July 2012, all AC4 declarations of release for consumption of excise goods in Belgium will have to be submitted electronically to the PLDA – AC4 environment. This means that, in the future, it will only be possible to lodge an electronic version of the AC4 document via the web application of Belgian Customs or to use / set up a business software solution communicating with the Belgian Customs’ platform (B2G solution). The paper document will be abolished.
