This quarter’s highlights

During Q4'09, return of confidence was confirmed in the public markets where CTRE companies performed better than the market as a whole (Nex index vs DJ Eurostoxx 50). M&A activity in Europe for the CTRE sector significantly improved during Q4'09::

  • Announced European transactions have more than doubled compared to Q4'08;
  • Average deal value during Q4'09 (106€m) increased by 89% compared to Q4'08;
  • However, trading multiples in some specific sectors like wind and solar decreased on average by 7% and 3% respectively for Q4'09 compared to Q3'09, while on the contrary in the biomass and biofuels sectors trading multiples improved by 17% on average.
