Explosive population growth in developing markets. Dwindling natural resources. Volatile commodity prices. Complex global supply chains. These forces, and more, are sending huge ripples through the food value chain. The stakeholders in this chain – the growers, processors, shippers, and retailers, as well as governments and NGOs – have a part to play in ensuring that there is a safe food supply for the next millennium. But they must work together if this is to happen.
