Is your company geared up for blue-white collar harmonisation?
New ways of working leading to new ways of rewarding
The Harmonisation Act entered into force on 1 January 2014. The new law provides not only for new and harmonised notice periods for blue and white-collars. It has also revised the entire dismissal legislation. The workshop will set out the new termination rules, explain their impact for employers and highlight the new pitfalls.
More and more companies are entering the new world of working and are therefore looking for other ways of rewarding. This session will focus on innovative alternatives to reward employees, such as cafeteria plans, bring your own device, employee flexibility and mobility.
Transfer pricing and a changing tax climate
Tax audits in the year 2014
The recent OECD initiatives concerning BEPS and transfer pricing will have a huge impact on multinationals. Various tax-planning techniques that have been considered best practice for many years are no longer deemed fair or ethical. Transfer pricing is becoming the most prevalent reason for tax audits and can be the most complex issue to resolve. In this workshop we will discuss common issues that give rise to audits and comment on different ways to cope with them, including practical suggestions for assessing the sustainability of your current tax structure and for mitigating double taxation resulting from transfer pricing adjustments.
The global economic crisis is forcing tax authorities around the world to search for additional revenue. Data-mining, extended investigation powers, structures under scrutiny, and increased liability for tax practitioners - these all show that the fiscal climate has changed. Due to greater information sharing between authorities, audits are more targeted than ever. This workshop will give an overview of the latest evolution concerning fiscal data exchange and will also offer an overview of the rights and duties of the taxpayer.
The challenge of moving the tax function to shared services
Managing indirect tax data - for your benefit
As finance shared service centres grow in maturity and increase in scope, Tax and Statutory Reporting are next on their target list. This is positively changing the landscape for tax professionals, leading to increased flexibility and ultimately freeing Tax to become true business partners. This session will explore what elements of Tax and Statutory Reporting should be transitioned, and how to work with a finance shared service centre.
With indirect tax, the devil is in the details. This is because indirect tax decisions are taken at the transactional level on a 24/7 basis. More and more, tax authorities are challenging businesses to provide tax data and retain supporting documentation. Using real business cases this workshop will demonstrate our approach. You will learn what eAudits performed by tax authorities mean; why data, data controls and data integrity should be a top concern; and how you can improve your indirect tax data management.
