Who leads Deloitte Belgium? Our partners do. They own and control the firm. However, most partners’ primary concern lies with client service responsibilities. Daily management is the duty of the Executive Committee. Additionally, a Supervisory Board exercises an oversight function.
The CEO heads the Executive Committee (EXCO) and reports to the Supervisory Board every quarter. The CEO is elected for a four-year term and may serve a maximum of two terms. Appointed by the CEO, the EXCO members also serve four-year terms. Together with the EXCO, the CEO defines the strategic course of the firm.
The EXCO is in charge of managing and expanding the firm, while sharing some responsibilities with the Business Unit (BU) management committees, the Supervisory Board and the partners as a whole.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board regularly attends meetings as an observer.
The Supervisory Board is the primary policy and oversight body. Its main responsibilities are to review and discuss matters affecting partners in their capacities as firm owners, and to verify the proper application of all relevant agreements. It is fully independent from management and is composed of voted members, including a chairman.
The members of the Board are: Marc Bafort, Philippe Bisschop, William Blomme, Alain Bronckaers, André Claes, Christian Combes, Ronny De Prest, Patrick De Schutter, Jacques De Witte, Eric Desomer, Philip Maeyaert, Marc Vanroose, Frank Verhaegen (Chairman), Laurent Weerts and Hilde Wittemans.
