Our CEO must be proud of us. Without any exception everybody was ready to go at 7.45 AM and this for two days in a row. A small difference if you compare it with a normal working day of an average Deloitte partner.
Originally this blog was designed to be a neutral reporter of our “where abouts”. However recently we noticed that the blog is impacting the behavior of some of our bikers, with only one reason: they want to be mentioned. Let me give you an example. In the beginning of the week it was sufficient to have two flat tires at once to be referred to. Today Stefan VT managed to have three flat tires in only a few miles and less than half an hour after we left the hotel. I see you wondering: how can one have three flat tires, a bike only has two wheels? Remember what you did with the bikes of your toddlers when you learned them to drive. Champagne is guaranteed, thanks Stefan VT. Who does better tomorrow?
The weather forecast predicted rain all day. For the first time it was right. The rain poured out of the sky this morning, this afternoon it was slightly better with just a few showers.
We hope you have enjoyed this blog over the past days and will continue to do so in the days to come. If this blog has brought some fun in your live maybe you could consider doing the same for those for whom we are cycling, the kids of SOS Children’s Villages and Fund Isaan.
- Fund Isaan
Fund Isaan is a non-profit organization set up by one of our own partners and managed by the King Boudewijn Foundation. The Fund installs computer classes, sends volunteers to assist local teachers and offers scholarships to kids in the North East of Thailand. It works closely together with the non-profit organization Close the Gap, also founded by a Deloitter. - SOS Children’s Villages
SOS Children’s Villages takes care of abandoned children and orphans around the world. Its main goal is to defend the rights of children, allowing them to have a proper education in a safe environment. Deloitte supports the school projects the organization has set up in Belgium.
As founder of Fund Isaan I am touched by the drive of my colleagues, the bikers. I want to take this opportunity to thank them from the bottom of my heart on behalf of the children of SOS Children’s Villages and Isaan. By sponsoring our cycling event you also can make a difference.
