Isaan Fund |

Isaan is one of the poorest regions in Thailand, a place where education is often a low priority. Rony Wuytjens has created the Isaan Fund, a non-profit foundation, that, together with the King Boudewijn Foundation, Close the Gap and e-Learning for Kids, the last two nonprofit organizations were also founded by Deloitte employees, supply the computer and technology infrastructure and online educational software. They provide Internet-ready computer facilities with the help of Deloitte Belgium. Access to higher education leads to improved livelihoods and opportunity over the long term, providing benefits not just for the students but also their families and communities.
Deloitte Belgium will support its volunteers by providing 3 paid weeks to match 3 weeks of their own vacation. This way Deloitte offers its employees a chance to combine their ideals with their careers. Our volunteers lead English language courses for students and teachers, using a train-the-trainer approach.
“The support from Deloitte, its employees and its partners allows Fund Isaan to provide education and information technology to children (and adults) who would otherwise have very few options in life. This not only gives them access to the world and opens up opportunities. It also allows Deloitte people to develop pride in their accomplishments.” Rony Wuytjens, CEO Fund Isaan
“The partnership with Fund Isaan is a win-win opportunity for Deloitte. We are assisting underserved youngsters in the Isaan region while at the same time benefiting our employees in the form of skills, experience and personal fulfillment, which boosts pride in our brand and retention at our firm.” Rik Vanpeteghem, CEO Deloitte Belgium
