Frist Meeting of the Finance Executive Club in Sarajevo

On December 17th, 2007, more than 20 CFOs of prominent companies and banks from Bosnia-Herzegovina gathered for the first time at the newly formed Finance Executive Club, initiated by Deloitte. Sead Bahtanović, Director and Country Leader in Deloitte Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kurt Geyskens, Director in Deloitte Croatia, welcomed the participants and expressed their satisfaction with the interest the invitees showed for this Club. The guest speaker at the event was Mr. Dino Dogan, CFO from the telecommunications company VIPnet, who held a presentation on the topic “The Changing Role of the CFO Within a Central European Context”. This interesting presentation was followed by an intensive discussion with the participants, in which Mr. Dogan and Deloitte’s experts further elaborated some of the key issues for Financial Departments and their managers. The Club Members used this opportunity to point out the topics of interest to them, which will be discussed further in the next Club meetings: risk management, Basel II, internal controls, and others. The discussion continued in a more informal tone during lunch in the pleasant interior of The Sarajevo Pivnica (Brewery).
