Tom is a UK and Australian Chartered Accountant with over 12 years Australian and UK tax experience, in professional services and as senior tax manager for a large multinational group, with a focus on Tax Controversy.
Tom has extensive Tax Administration and Tax Controversy experience, having advised clients including large corporate groups, SMEs and high wealth individuals (including privately controlled groups) on all areas of ATO activity and Administrative Law matters – including preparation for ATO audit, management of ATO risk reviews and audits (including cross-border simultaneous audits), audit defence and dispute resolution.
He has drafted submissions and negotiated settlement on matters involving hundreds of millions of dollars under dispute, including obtaining full remission of interest and penalties. Tom had direct carriage of one of Australia’s longest running ATO audits and was involved in the ATO audit and Federal Court proceedings of Consolidated Media Holdings Limited.
