Benchmarking

Benchmarking is a proven tool used in the measurement of a process, product, or service compared to those of competitors, world class performers, or internally cross geographies in order to find and implement ways to improve.

Benchmarking is about increasing productivity, enhancing revenue containing costs and, ultimately, increasing shareholder value. While many companies have been using benchmarking as their process performance management tool of choice for several years, their needs have become progressively more sophisticated.  Deloitte believes it is no longer enough to know where you rank among competitors. Companies need to be able to use this knowledge to identify improvement opportunities that integrate with action-based improvement plans. Then, you can re-benchmark to measure the improvement program’s effectiveness in meeting corporate and process improvement targets.

As well as providing the benchmarking results, we are able to identify discrete areas for improvement.  Our experienced UK consulting team will develop an understanding of the capabilities that limit your performance, and will also use the benchmarking tool, which is linked to our global database of best practices.   This will give you insights into the level of improvement that can be attained, areas to target and best practices to strive for. Furthermore, Deloitte is uniquely positioned to bring practical improvements that we have seen successfully work at our clients around the world. This offering can help you to plan, prioritise and achieve tangible improvements for your finance function and beyond.
