Craig Mitchell is a partner in the Risk Services group of Deloitte and leads the Technology Assurance team in Brisbane. He has over 18 years Australian and international experience in assisting companies improve their operations through matters of governance, risk and compliance - especially where matters of technology are concerned.

Craig specialises in:

  • Leading the delivery of IT audit services to our key external and internal audit clients, assessing the quality of IT governance, risk and controls
  • Leading IT assurance and risk advisory services to our major clients including services such as software and hardware architecture, software licensing, IT due diligence, information security, business continuity, project development (SDLC), project assurance, ERP integrity, data quality/CAATs, IT governance and outsourcing assurance
  • Assisting clients to implement effective internal control frameworks in response to key regulatory environments such as SOX, J-SOX, ASX Governance Principles, APRA standards, COSO framework and various IT Governance Institute Frameworks (CoBiT, and IT Risk).

Craig has significant experience through a variety of industries including financial services, energy & resources, telecommunications, manufacturing and consumer business. While overseas in Toronto, Canada he developed specific experience with software development companies and other technology related industries.

Craig’s leverages both his business (accounting/finance) and information technology skills to provide commercial advice where matters of technology are concerned.

Craig’s commercial experience has also resulted in him becoming an expert in corporate governance matters. He is currently a member of the ASX Corporate Governance Council and assisted in the ASX’s review of the ASX Principles – the only representative from the Big 4. He has recently authored the ASX-sponsored SME guide to compliance with Principle 7.
