Background

We consider that now is a good opportunity to demystify the broader CSG-LNG industry opportunities and discuss the role of its various participants and LNG services and contractors.

We have assembled a number of industry experts within Deloitte to provide a topical overview of the industry and some issues to consider when considering LNG services and contractors.

Our selection of speakers will comprise the following:

Geoff Cann – Deloitte Partner, LNG Strategy & Operations Consulting

Geoffrey Cann is the Consulting National Director of Oil and Gas in the Brisbane office of Deloitte. Geoff focuses on helping energy and resources companies solve complex management challenges. He has over twenty-four years of management consulting experience gained through engagements in Canada, Australia, the United States, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Japan and the Caribbean. Prior to his current role, he was Deloitte’s National Consulting Director for Oil and Gas in Canada and leader of our strategy and operations practice in Calgary, Alberta.

Robin Polson – Deloitte Partner, Corporate Finance  

Robin is a valuation specialist with more than 22 years professional experience within the audit, corporate finance and valuation & strategy practices. Robin has significant experience around valuations, due diligence and identifying and implementing value creating transactions. He has a particular focus on the unconventional gas sector in Australia and especially on the development of the CSG to LNG industry.  He has advised this industry since early 2002 with advice to Queensland Gas Company concerning its joint venture with Pangaea, and Tipperary Oil and Gas concerning its Fairview gas field. Since then Robin has provided key commercial and valuation advice to most players in the industry, large and emerging. This has included independent expert reports for market and takeover transactions for Queensland Gas, Sunshine Gas, Pure Energy, Westside Corporation, Arrow Energy and DART Energy.

Matthew Donaldson – Deloitte Partner, Audit and Assurance

Matthew is a Partner in our Assurance & Advisory division with over 17 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry. After qualifying as a chartered accountant in Australia, Matthew moved to London in 1996, initially providing upstream oil and gas project based assistance to Amerada Hess. In 1997, Matthew joined Shell International Petroleum at their headquarters in London as part of a team responsible for Shell’s Oil Products assets in Asia, the Middle East and Australasia. During his time with Shell, Matthew developed a wide range of transaction support, financial analysis and budgeting skills. Matthew was a member of the UK Oil Industry Accounting Committee between 2002 and 2010, where he was actively involved addressing the issues facing the oil and gas industry on transition to IFRS. Matthew has spoken at conferences in Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East on IFRS for the oil and gas industry.
