Deloitte Discovery

Electronic discovery

Electronic discoveryElectronic discovery is defined as the application of forensic practices to collect preserve and process data required for the discovery process or potential use as evidence in legal proceedings.

The Deloitte Discovery team has provided specialist electronic discovery services to clients since 1998. Our electronic discovery services are tested and have proven to significantly reduce costs in each of the large litigation matters in which we have been retained. These significant cost savings have been as a result of established protocols, verified de-duplication of data and a reduction in the total time required completing tasks due to all work being performed in-house on current working equipment.

Our services include the use of sound forensic technology practices to collect preserve and process data required for the Discovery process or potential use as evidence in legal proceedings. This may include:

  • Culling, de-duplication and filtering of irrelevant material for more efficient review
  • Extraction of meta data regarding individual documents or other data
  • Identification/collection of data in a forensically sound manner for discovery
  • Processing of relevant data for hosting on Deloitte Discovery litigation database or loading into your own in-house litigation support system e.g. Ringtail
  • Securely storing/preserving data to maintain its authenticity and evidentiary continuity
  • Use of forensic software tools for in-depth searching or analysis of data.
