There are 12 companies that comprise the BSL Group, one of which is the well-known retailer Betta Electrical, which has 250 franchised stores across Australia. BSL’s headquarters are in Brisbane with the majority of retail stores located in Queensland. The companies’ main business is electronics and appliance retailing. On 5 October 2006, the directors of the BSL Group appointed John Greig and Simon Wallace-Smith Administrators. Receivers and Managers were appointed to BSL and certain other subsidiaries shortly thereafter by the CBA, pursuant to its fixed and floating charges over all of the assets and undertakings of those companies. The Administrators convened meetings of creditors for each company on 22 December 2006 and 3 January 2007 at which creditors resolved to wind up each company. The creditors appointed John Greig and Simon Wallace-Smith as Liquidators. On 22 November 2010, David McEvoy and Philip Carter resigned as Receivers and Managers. DocumentsCirculars
