Monthly movements
The Deloitte Qld Index decreased by $1.7 billion or 2.4% during July 2008, with the main decreases in market capitalisation for the month coming from Lihir, QGC and New Hope. The main increases in market capitalisation came from Felix Resources, Transpacific and Virgin Blue.
Six month movements
The Deloitte Qld Index has increased by $0.5 billion or 0.8% during the six month period to 31 July 2008, outperforming the ASX All Ordinaries which decreased by 11.3%, the Dow Jones which decreased by 10.1% and the FTSE which decreased by 8.0% over the same six month period.
Twelve month movements
The Deloitte Qld Index decreased by $13.8 billion or 16.7% over the twelve month period to 31 July 2008. The ASX All Ordinaries, FTSE and the Dow Jones also decreased by 18.3%, 14.9% and 13.9% respectively over the same period.
