Monthly movements
The Deloitte Qld Index decreased by $1.8 billion or 2.6% during August 2008, with the main decreases in market capitalisation for the month coming from Suncorp, Lihir and Macarthur Coal. The main increases in market capitalisation came from Billabong, Campbell Brothers and Sunshine Gas.
Six month movements
The Deloitte Qld Index has decreased by $3.3 billion or 4.7% during the six month period to 31 August 2008. Outperforming the ASX All Ordinaries which decreased by 8.1%, the Dow Jones which decreased by 5.9%, whilst being slightly outperformed by the FTSE which decreased by 4.2% over the same six month period.
Twelve month movements
The Deloitte Qld Index decreased by $13.7 billion or 17.0% over the twelve month period to 31 August 2008. The ASX All Ordinaries, FTSE and the Dow Jones also decreased by 16.5%, 10.6% and 13.6% respectively over the same period.
