Liz is a Manager in the Actuaries & Consultants practice for Deloitte in Melbourne. Since joining Deloitte in 2009, Liz has been involved in a range of projects across a variety of clients, including a large M&A transaction for a major Australian bank, assessment of a new advisor offering for a major Australian Bank, designing and implementing an analysis of profit framework for a global life insurer, assistance with a tender for a hospital joint venture and an assumption review for a cemetery.
Prior to joining the firm she worked for an international actuarial consulting company, where she consulted to a broad client base across industries that include insurance, wealth management, banking, and retirement villages, specialising in the health industry in particular. She has over 3 years experience with Appointed Actuary work for 2 Australian Private Health Insurers. Liz has also worked with clients based in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Korea and India; including periods working out of the Hong Kong and Tokyo offices.
Industry Specialisation
Liz currently specialises in consulting to life insurance and financial services clients, but has previously focused on the Private Health Insurance industry .She specialised in Investment Management and Finance as part of her Actuarial qualification.
Her relevant experience includes:
- Mergers & Acquisitions – all aspects of the transaction including forming initial business case, valuation and due diligence
- Financial modelling, appraisal valuations & valuation methods
- Analysis of profit and value
- Review of investment strategy for shareholder capital
- Appointed Actuary role to 2 Private Health Insurers.
Liz has a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance major) from The Australian National University. She has also been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia since August 2008, specialising in Investment Management and Finance.
