Peter joined Deloitte Actuaries & Consultants as a consultant in the Melbourne office in February 2008. He has over 14 years of experience in insurance, superannuation and investments working in many areas of the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Deloitte he spent three years at a global financial services company working in a number of group finance roles with his last role having responsibility for embedded value reporting both internally to management and externally to market. He has a very good understanding of life insurance profit and value reporting requirements and a deep understanding of business/management decisions on shareholder value.
Prior to his previous role, Peter worked at a global consulting firm for 11 years with roles encompassing a broad range of activities including:
- Providing actuarial and other advice across all areas of superannuation to some of the country's largest public and private sector defined benefit superannuation funds. Peter has acted as signatory actuary to a number of defined benefit superannuation funds over the years
- Significant expertise in the area of asset liability management particularly of superannuation funds including modelling of various solvency and funding implications
- Acting as fund secretary to a medium sized super fund for over three years thereby developing hands-on understanding of all aspects of trustee roles and responsibilities
- Business development and client relationship management.
Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and has a Bachelor of Applied Science in mathematics.
