Deloitte Queensland Index - Gala Edition FY14

Overcoming challenges and realising potential Find out how Queensland can realise its true potential in the Fantastic Five industries, by overcoming existing hurdles facing Queensland business. [6.30 mins] Where will we play? Our Partners and key clients share their views on the industries where Queensland can prosper and create a bright future. [4.38 mins]

This special edition of the Index examines the outlook for the Queensland economy, reviews the performance of the Deloitte Queensland Index over the past year and showcases the top five Queensland listed companies by market capitalisation as well as five additional standout growth companies over the past year.

During the 2014 financial year (FY14), Deloitte Queensland Index (the Index) and the ASX All Ordinaries increased 13.1% and 12.7%, respectively. Out of the 169 companies currently listed on the Index, 95 companies posted an increase, 58 companies lost ground, while the remainder were either steady or
new entrants.

Overall, Queensland’s economy is performing better than its residents realise. The State’s project pipeline is pretty well-spaced. That leaves it less at risk of a pothole in activity between resource-related construction projects finishing and resource export volumes picking up.
