Deloitte joins forces with Digicon and continues to shape the digital market place
Deloitte Digital, building momentum across the country, launches new studio in BrisbaneDOWNLOAD
12 September 2013: Deloitte has continued to build momentum and strengthen its digital capabilities by joining forces with Queensland’s leading web content management consultancy, Digicon. The transaction will spearhead the establishment of Deloitte’s fourth Australian Deloitte Digital studio to be based in Brisbane, as digital continues its move to the core of business and Deloitte responds to the pent up demand in the Queensland public and private sector for the next generation of digital customer platforms.
Deloitte Australia Chief Executive, Giam Swiegers said, “This latest transaction will bring an additional 20 digital specialists into our Brisbane office. They will join our more than 200 dedicated digital experts, an integral part of Deloitte’s over 1000 client-facing technology professionals across the country. This is one of a number of similar investments we aim to announce in the near future, as Deloitte broadens its digital capability to assist business and public sector organisations across Australia grapple with the transformative reality of digital disruption.
Where today digital business represents a fraction of our economy, the evidence is mounting that it will permeate more than two thirds of all business activity within five short years and will be central to the productivity gains our country aspires to.
“The common thread in all Deloitte’s current technology transactions is that they support the idea of 21st century organisations transforming around digital business models,’ said Mr Swiegers. Deloitte will continue to challenge the tired and outdated approaches that too many IT vendors are pushing on their customers by rapidly moving digital to the core of our business services offerings.
Deloitte is preparing for this industrialisation of digital by investing in the next generation of technologies that sit at the heart of our business and government clients. These include companies focused on mobile technologies and social media but also those that focus on the next generation of digital customer platforms.
According to Frank Farrall Deloitte Digital Lead Partner, this transaction adds to our portfolio of solutions by leveraging Digicon’s many years of experience building web based solutions, with a particular focus on next generation technology such as Sitecore with its innovative web personalisation functionality (see The Australian Army and Australian Super websites).
“Both Deloitte and Digicon have an impressive portfolio of innovative digital solutions built with Sitecore. Combining our teams provides Digicon’s clients with access to our local and global design teams, innovative intellectual property and the business insights which Deloitte can bring to them,” he said. “As public and private organisations increasingly understand the importance of digital in connecting with their customers and shaping their business strategies, they are demanding world class solutions – secure, reliable, and maintainable and integrated to critical back-office systems and data.
Deloitte Queensland Managing Partner, John Greig, noted that the launch of the Brisbane based Deloitte Digital studio reinforces the firm’s commitment to digital innovation in the Queensland market. “This transaction combines the creative and technical strengths of both organisations and we are looking forward to bringing locally based digital strategy, design, engineering and integration services to our Queensland clients,” said Mr Greig.
Digicon Managing Director Lola Weller said: “By Digicon joining Deloitte, we now have the expertise of Deloitte combined with the technical capacity and capability of an established Queensland Sitecore team in Digicon. Sitecore as a platform enables cutting edge digital personalisation (see http://www.digicon.com.au/Portfolio/QTMB for the QT Mutual Bank). We love what we do and are excited about the offering to the digital market across Australia.
