Australia's largest independently-owned network of financial planning accountants and advisers, Count Financial, an ASX listed company, today named Deloitte executive Andrew Gale as its new chief executive.
Caroline Bennet will take over as leader of Deloitte Actuaries and Consultants, a growth business for Deloitte Australia. Ms Bennet has led the financial service actuarial practice at Deloitte since 2005 and is highly regarded in the industry, acknowledged by banking and wealth management clients.
Ms Bennet represents Deloitte Australia on Deloitte’s global actuarial team which is responsible for coordinating Deloitte’s global actuarial initiatives including capital and risk management and the use of data analytics.
Ms Bennet is a life insurance and wealth management specialist with a particular expertise in capital management, portfolio optimisation, and mergers & acquisitions.
She joined the actuarial business at Deloitte in 1996, gaining partnership in 2001.
Consulting Managing Partner, Gerhard Vorster said of the new appointments, “We welcome Caroline to lead our actuarial and consulting business and wish Andrew the very best in his new chief executive role.”
Mr Gale joined Deloitte in Nov 2001 and has almost doubled the Actuaries & Consultants business over the last four years. This included the merger of the Butler Walker business in late 2006 to establish the base for Deloitte’s thriving superannuation practice. The superannuation and financial services practice was further reinforced with the addition of senior industry leader Michael Monaghan in 2008. In 2006 Gale recruited Elaine Collins from KPMG to lead the General Insurance practice and take on the support of the annual flagship JPMorgan Deloitte General Insurance Industry Survey.
The actuarial division of Deloitte Australia, Deloitte Actuaries and Consultants provides actuarial and broader business advice to clients in the life insurance, wealth management, general insurance, banking, health and superannuation sectors. It is part of Deloitte’s global Actuarial and Insurance Solutions practice - a team of more than 600 professionals - which is one of the largest actuarial firms in the world.
“Deloitte Actuaries & Consultants offer strong local expertise and global thought leadership, reach and capability,” said Bennet. “Our power lies in our combined actuarial and business advisory strength.”
The team is comprised of actuaries and other consulting professionals who deliver very deep industry insights and expertise. This enables clients to have a ‘data-driven’ and quantitative understanding of their future, as well as a balanced view of commercial and economic issues.
