Receivers and Managers appointed to Finesse Foods


Perth, 4 November 2010: Following the appointment of voluntary administrators by the Directors of two companies representing the Finesse Foods brand (Goldfin Enterprises Pty Ltd and GoldLevel Enterprises Pty Ltd) on Tuesday 2nd November, Dermott McVeigh and Gary Doran from Deloitte have been appointed as joint and several Receivers and Managers.

Finesse Foods, which has operated from Bunbury, Western Australia since 1988, produces and manufactures a range of raw and value-added chicken products. Goldfin Enterprises runs a chicken processing facility in Bunbury and GoldLevel Enterprises operates an abattoir in Dardanup. Finesse Foods mainly supplies chicken products to the south west region of Australia but also exports chicken products throughout Asia and the South Pacific Islands.

The companies employ over 130 people at their facilities in Bunbury and Dardanup and have over 100 suppliers in the area. According to Mr McVeigh, “At this point the Receivers are assessing the companies’ affairs and it is business as usual,” he says.

“Following our investigation of the financial status of the companies, we will consider whether the business can be turned around or sold as a going concern.”

Mr McVeigh confirmed that one of the first tasks of the Receivers and Managers has been to ensure insurance and occupational health and safety conditions are maintained.
