Deloitte appoints audit leader Jody Burton as OMP of South AustraliaDOWNLOAD
4 February 2014: Deloitte announced today it had appointed senior audit partner Jody Burton as its next Office Managing Partner (OMP) in South Australia (SA), following Rob DiMonte’s retirement after 34 years in professional services to pursue board director and advisory roles outside the independence requirements of Deloitte.
Jody has been with Deloitte 21 years, and is currently Adelaide’s Assurance & Advisory (A&A) leader and a member of the Deloitte national A&A Executive. She is well known across the Deloitte network – in Australia and beyond – for championing behaviour changes within the audit practice as part of the global Deloitte Audit transformation project. Deloitte was subsequently awarded an Australian International Design AwardTM for its audit services in 2013 as well as being chosen as the Audit Firm of the Year 2013.
Pete Forrester, Deloitte Regional Office Managing Partner says: “Jody has been an outstanding leader of the A&A practice in Adelaide and has a long track record as a strong regional leader, client service leader and mentor of talent. She has a great ability to bring teams together to focus on strategy, as evidenced by her excellent leadership of the Deloitte Audit project in Australia, recognised globally as the benchmark for implementation effectiveness. I am very excited to welcome her to the regional leadership position.”
Jody will become Deloitte’s second female Office Managing Partner, following Lynne Pezzullo who was appointed OMP for Canberra in 2011. Her appointment also marks the first time a female OMP has been appointed in the Big 4 accounting firms in Adelaide.
“It is such a privilege to be filling the very big shoes of Rob DiMonte in an office where I was once recruited as a graduate,” says Jody. “My career with Deloitte has allowed me to journey from Adelaide across Australia, and globally, within both A&A and Deloitte Private.
“Our aspiration is to become the No. 1 professional services firm shaping the future of South Australia, and we’ll aim to achieve this by challenging ourselves to bring a new perspective to the market and leveraging our national and global reach.
