Tuesday, 20 April 2010: Deloitte Partners, Sal Algeri and Simon Wallace-Smith, were today appointed as Receivers and Managers of Lotus Aged Care Services Pty Ltd and Lotus Fund No 3 Pty Ltd (“Lotus Group”).
The main assets of the Lotus Group comprise the property and business operations of the Brookfield Park Nursing Home, in Traralgon, regional Victoria.
The nursing home is currently operating as a 30 bed high care facility and employs approximately 50 staff. A construction project was previously underway to expand the facility to 59 beds, however, progress on the construction stalled last year.
Mr Algeri said, the intention is to continue to operate the nursing home.
“Our immediate priority is to ensure that the standard of care for residents is maintained. We have already engaged with the Department of Health and Ageing, and the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, and will be working closely with them going forward,” Mr Algeri said.
“Our secondary focus is on understanding the current status of the construction project as quickly as possible. We will be evaluating our options, which may include resuming construction as soon as possible.”
The Receivers and Managers will be holding meetings of residents and their families on site later this week.
