Stephen is a partner in Deloitte’s Actuaries & Consultants team. He has over 20 years experience in Superannuation, Life Insurance and Funds Management. Prior to joining Deloitte in 2011, Stephen was an Executive Director at Ernst & Young for three years and a Principal of Askit Consulting for ten years. Before moving into consulting, Stephen worked as an actuary at Colonial Mutual for ten years following five years teaching high school maths.

Stephen is an actuary with experience across the wealth management sector with a particular focus on the superannuation industry which is facing continued uncertainty with increased competitive and regulatory pressures. Stephen’s expertise lies in working with superannuation funds and their service providers to navigate these uncertain and solve complex strategic and operational problems.

Stephen’s industry specialisation covers:
- Merger and acquisition advice to industry superannuation funds including strategy, due diligence and execution.
- Unit pricing and crediting rate processes including remediation of errors, developing policy and procedures, assessment against good practice, and reviewing documentation and controls.
- Product management and development including post retirement solutions.
Stephen is a member of ASFA’s Retirement Outcomes Policy Subcommittee.
