15 March 2012: Professional Service firm Deloitte is strengthening its global commitment to digital innovation by continuing their investment in Online and Digital capabilities. In order for the firm to expand its systems integration and enterprise technology capabilities, our US firm, recently announced the acquisition of Übermind, Inc., an innovative mobile agency which will assist Deloitte globally, and in Australia to expand its leading edge digital business.

Mark White, who is a Principal and US Consulting Chief Technology Officer for Deloitte Consulting and is currently visiting Australia, said that mobile application development work is in high demand by clients in the USA and also in Australia.

“Mobile technologies are rapidly reshaping the nature of business. This represents a significant opportunity for companies to develop new interaction models with customers, employees and stakeholders,” said Mr White.

Based in Seattle, Washington, Übermind’s mobile strategy, engineering, design and creative talent transform the way companies use mobile solutions, using disruptive technologies to create inspiring and intuitive mobile applications, designed to both strengthen brand and transform businesses.

“Übermind complements Deloitte with extraordinary talent, tools and assets that are customised to the mobile development lifecycle, including proprietary frameworks and methodologies,” said Mr White.

“By leveraging the strength of Deloitte’s global capabilities, industry expertise and deep talent, this acquisition allows us to provide even greater insight into the business and technology issues which are facing organisations today,” said Mr White.

“The acquisition combines the creative and technical strengths of both organisations to bring depth and scale to digital strategy, design, engineering and integration for the marketplace,” added Mr White.

In Australia, Deloitte is a leader in mobile application development and works with iconic clients such as Australia Post, the SA Government (EzyReg App) and the Victorian Government (BetterHealth Channel).

Frank Farrall National Leader of Deloitte Australia’s Online practice said  that the recently released Deloitte Tech Trends 2012 report highlighted that mobile technology is a key disruptor  that is making an impact on business today and also presents an opportunity for new business innovation and improved performance.

“Mobile enablement is key to helping many organisations rethink their business models. Consumer-facing mobile applications are only the beginning. Organisations should make sure their solutions are world class – secure, reliable, maintainable and integrated to critical back-office systems and data,” said Mr Farrall.

“With this acquisition, the full circle of creative business technology for organisations is now complete. Industry-focused mobile apps, designed from the ground up for enterprise integration and market deployment, help clients address virtually any digital technology challenge in their business—now and in the future,” added Mr Farrall.
